Just another WordPress weblog

Know the feeling. If it had not been for the hydro generator this incredibly wet summer I would be pulling my hair out by now.
I stumbled on your musings about a year ago, but only recently read enough to tickle me and respond…since you know so much in the vandwellers community, I was wondering if you knew of anyone who travelled with a child. I used to live in my van in Hawai’i, and in the Western US for a few years, but only with myself. I now have a wee one, and am contemplating it again. It’s only me, no man, and I am just curious if you know of any others. Mahalo, much love, Lee
Hi Tara!
I’ve been gone from your blog (or any blogs for that matter) for a long time, spending some healing time with my family this summer.
I just read through all the posts I missed and my oh my, you’ve made some huge leaps! Many, many congratulations on buying your own land and having the cabin. It sounds like an absolutely amazing, wondrous place to be and I sure am a bit jealous! From what you write, it seems like this little piece of earth was designed with you in mind to take care of it, enjoy it and love it. I am really happy for you.
Your writing has also gotten a new bounce in its step since you got the land and cabin. You “feel” so much freer and much more content and that is great. Not to say that you didn’t seem content and free before, you definitely did, but there’s just a sort of… peacefulness and greater playfulness that has infiltrated your style. At least that’s my little humble opinion/feeling.
I wish you the best of luck exploring your new environment and cabin-owner self and I’ll be back every day to check on the progress.
Much love from Switzerland, beyond the big ocean and the mountains,
Anna
on a really random note, i am interested in your opinion…
what do you think of the tradition of bachelor parties involving strippers?
Judy, I wish I could have hydro, but my little river doesn’t really move very fast. Actually, when the water dropped, it changed directions. 😯
Snogoddess, there’s Wendy the Wanderer (google), who travelled extensively in a van and pick up camper with her daughter, who’s grown up now. And there are the Enchanted Gypsy folks (click over there under Hobos and Wanderers) who just had baby Sage. There definitely can be some potential legal issues, but I think many of them can be mitigated by having a plausible sounding home base and home school paperwork if your child is school aged.
Anna, thanks so much!
X, well, on a capatlist stripper level I think it’s great! I think all parties should involve well paid strippers! On a more practical level, bachelor parties are often misbehaved in the clubs. On a cultural level, I think it’s weirdness that stems from this monotheistic conceptualization of monogomy.
