Tara is broken down, in a very little town, still in Alaska. There is a car repair place, but they won’t be open until Monday, (I hope, that’s a holiday) and so she has no internet access until she gets going again, which hopefully won’t be long.
On an unrelated note, I just upgraded this site to the latest version of WordPress. PLEASE let me know if you find any bugs because it was a pain in the ass (when it so shouldn’t have been). Word of advice? Never say you are going to upgrade something computer-wise and then go to bed. You will inevitably hit a major snag. Should be all good now tho. Leave comments if you want and I’ll pass on anything she passes on to me.
Aw. Well, I wish her well–fingers-crossed for an open mechanic tomorrow…
Hey I noticed that you are having power supply problems on your portable. Be aware that most car “power” inverters will burn out your power supply over time. You’ll need to get a power strip that conditions the power coming from your van/car. Check out marine/boat supply companies.
Good luck.
Sorry to hear it, Tara. What’s the nature of the breakdown: a preventable, maintenance-related disaster; or something completely off the wall? The Astro van [built in Baltimore] is a pretty rudimentary and reliable piece of gear, with very little in the way of “bleeding edge” technologies. Please let me and your readers know if we may be of service to you.
Tara,
Sending you ease and grace for your van repairs while remembering a ‘break through’ often follows a ‘break down’.
With much inspiration,
Laurie
I’m back on the road! It was a bad feul pump, and it was expensive. Guess it had to happen eventually tho.
Laurie, it certainly is. Thanks for the reminder.
